Parks Make Life Better!
Temple City is proud to celebrate July as Park & Recreation month. A program of the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA), the goal is raising awareness of the essential services that park and recreation professional provide to communities across the U.S.
This July, Temple City is celebrating with the theme Our Park and Recreation Story. Throughout the month we will highlight some unique programs showcasing a strong, more vibrant, and more together community because of Parks and Recreation. A calendar has been created to showcase the variety of summer programing and activities planned for the community of all ages.

In celebration of “Parks Make Life Better” month, we challenge you and your family to kick off the free event at Live Oak Park on Saturday, July 10 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. where families will enjoy a variety of picnic style lawn games and activities directed by Recreation Staff. The challenge will begin Thursday, July 1st and run until Saturday, July 31st.
Join us as we celebrate the end of Parks Make Life Better Month with the Neon Night Walk on Friday, July 30, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Live Oak Park Walking Path. Bring your family and friends and enjoy our walking path in neon colors while enjoying some fresh air and music! Glow sticks and bracelets will be provided (while supplies last), or you can bring your own. Dress in your loudest, most bright outfit. Warm-up starts promptly at 7:15 p.m.
