The City of Temple City's internship program provides students with valuable on-the-job work experience. We do this by:
- Exposing students to the diverse functions of local government.
- Assigning students with special projects that benefit the community.
- Offering students with mentorships and networking opportunities.
The City welcomes intern candidates of various backgrounds who wish to bring innovative ideas and a fresh perspective to City Hall.
Junior, senior or graduate-level college students with a minimum 2.5 GPA. If student graduates during the term of the internship, the student may continue the internship until it reaches its duration.
Each internship is unique to the assigned department.
The availability of internships is based upon the needs of various City departments. Compensated internships are limited, and are conditioned upon available funding.
The duration of an internship is dependent upon the needs of the department of which the intern is assigned. However, at no time shall the duration of an internship exceed 1,000 hours in a fiscal or calendar year.
Students who complete an internship period may reapply for future internships.
