NEIGHBORHOOD
WATCH

In an effort to develop a strong Neighborhood Watch program, the City and the Sheriff's Department restructured the current program and developed Neighborhood Watch Areas.  The City was divided into twelve neighborhood watch areas to maximize efficiency and create additional opportunities for residents to participate.  Over the next 18 months, the City and the Sheriff's Department will host Area Neighborhood Watch meetings to engage all of the City's neighborhoods.

The topics of discussion at an Area Neighborhood Watch meeting may include the following:

●    Crime trends and statistics for the Area

●    Sheriff's response times

●    When to call 911 vs. the Sheriff's Department business line

●    Home security improvements

●    "Focus Area Systematic Enforcement" (Community Preservation)

●    Parking enforcement

●    Emergency preparedness

Because this kind of neighborhood involvement by law enforcement and participation by local residents has proven to be effective across America, the City and the Sheriff's Department representatives look forward to meeting neighborhood leaders throughout Temple City.

For more information or if you are interested in becoming an Area Leader or Block Captain, please contact Deputy Rick Adams at (626) 292-3313 or rcadams@lasd.org or Public Safety Officer Bryan Ariizumi at (626) 285-2171 ext. 2336 or bariizumi@templecity.us.
