On April 2, 2013, the City Council entered into an agreement
with San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity to re-instate the
Brush with Kindness Program. The Brush with Kindness Program is
intended to assist low-income homeowners to make critical
exterior repairs funded by a deferred loan
with a 0% interest rate . For

The City's Housing
Program provides housing rehabilitation assistance to low-income
residents. The purpose
of the Housing Rehabilitation Program is to improve the living
conditions of homeowners, while at the same time
upgrade the general housing stock of the City in order to
prevent decay.
Eligible
participants in the Housing Rehabilitation Program may receive
up to $25,000 for home repairs.
Acceptable improvements could include
the repair or replacement of obsolete or non-functioning
heating, plumbing, electrical, or structural items in their
residence. The loans are set at a simple
interest rate of 3%, with no payments due until sale, change
of title or a change of occupancy. Eligibility is base upon household size and
annual income, which is geared towards low-income households
that are owner-occupied single family residences.
